The birth of a new channel of communication is always good news, especially when those at the helm wield as much in the way of experience and reputation. A team of professionals whose chief goal in life is to spread energy, emotion and feeling through the best sound on the island. Ibiza, the island that they love and live on, epicentre of electronica, mecca of music.

PURE IBIZA RADIO launches in April 2017- a brand new radio station, a project put together by one of the island’s most important radio hosts, producer & DJ, David Moreno. 25 years in the game, broadcasting his Ibiza Dance radio programme on different island stations over the years. Few have dedicated so much time, effort, energy, illusion and passion to dance music as Moreno, preserving the spirit of Ibiza at all times.
And now, accompanied by a great team, David is about to embark on what may well be the most important project of his life. Ibiza 2017 is already shaping up to be a year of change and further evolution and this season promises to be one of the most interesting in recent years when it comes to the quality and variety of events and artists that make up the summer programme. With announcements already starting to trickle out of the clubs, PURE IBIZA RADIO has its ear to the ground to bring the listener a taste of what’s happening and where, transmitting the news, views and latest trends on the scene in Ibiza through its 97.2 FM frequency.
Lots of new and interesting developments are happening already for the 2017 season, as we get our hands on the line-ups for the clubs across the island. PRIVILEGE-and all that’s set to happen in there (much of which is still to be revealed)- is certainly worth a mention, with Juan Arenas in charge and dates already confirmed from Carl Cox who’ll be bringing the likes of Cassy, ​​Darren Emerson, Eats Everything, Joseph Capriati, Kerri Chandler, Nastia, Nicole Moudaber, The Martinez Brothers and tini amongst others, along with him. Heavyweights John Digweed & Sasha have taken up residency for Tuesdays at the world’s biggest club and expectations are high for the return of these two to the island.
HÏ IBIZA, the converted beach club in Playa d’en Bossa, has already announced Martin Garrix as its resident for Monday nights, Eric Prydz on Tuesdays bringing guests including Kölsch, Pig & Dan , Catz N Dogz, Agoria, Tube & Berger, Mathew Dear, Dusky or Cristoph, among others; Armin Van Buuren premieres his residency on Wednesdays, Fridays are Glitterbox and Black Coffee takes on the Saturday slot. The Opening Party has been confirmed for May 28 th with a great line up including Black Coffee, Luciano, Apollonia, Andrea Oliva B2B Davide Squillace, Bas Ibellini, Djebali, Joris Voorn , Kölsch, Matthias Tanzmann, Nic Fanciulli, Bedouin and Anna Tur.
PACHA, under new ownership, hasn’t much to report in the way of many changes to its summer programming except the new residency of Hot Since 82 with Labyrinth, replacing Insane on Friday nights. Flower Power, Solomun, Maceo Plex, David Guetta, Martin Solveig and Bob Sinclar all look set to keep doing their thing at the club and all have already announced their opening dates.
AMNESIA has confirmed it will throw open its doors for the summer on Saturday, May 27th with a line-up that includes Eric Morillo, Cuartero B2B Mar-T, Gorgon City, Hannah Wants, Jack Master and Patrick Topping among others. Elrow has claimed the Saturday nights, kicking off on June 3 rd . Mondays are all about Cocoon, with Adam Beyer confirmed for seven dates along the way. Together and Cream will take on Tuesdays and Thursdays respectively, both geared towards an altogether more British audience and Musicon with Marco Carola is set for Fridays. We await further news on what to expect on Tuesdays and Sundays.
DC10 has marked 22 nd May as the date it throws its doors open, with Seth Troxler, Jamie Jones, The Martinez Brothers, Kerri Chandler, Jackmaster, Davide Squillace, Matthias Tanzmann, Damian Lazarus, Marcel Dettmann, Tania Vulcano, Ellen Allien, The Black Madonna, Dan Ghenacia, Dyed Soundroom, Shonky, Dubfire, Adriatique,DJ Tennis, Cirillo, Dvsi, Petar Dundov, Clive Henry, Konstantin, William Djoko, Sossa, Acid Mondays and René all getting involved with that one. Meanwhile, Disclosure have announced their residency for Fridays at the club, under the name of ‘Wild Life’. We imagine that Jamie Jones’ Paradise will also continue taking charge of Wednesday nights although this has not been confirmed as yet.
USHUAÏA IBIZA will open on Saturday May 27th with an exceptional lineup that includes Pau Kalkbrenner presenting "Back to the Future", Andrea Oliva, Davide Squillace B2B Martin Buttrich, Eats Everything, Francisco Allendes, Raul Rodriguez, Steve Lawler and Uner. They have also already confirmed ANTS for Saturdays and Martin Garrix every Tuesday.
HEART will open with Sven Väth, Acid Pauli and Guy Laliberté on May 26th and the club has also just announced the residence of Bedouin, continuing with its policy of quality downtempo sounds.
SANKEYS has also announced the opening party of Unusual Suspects on May 11th with tini, Janina, Rick Maia, Eats Everything, Frank Storm and Federico Grazzini as well as The Redlight party every Monday from June 19th.
EDEN has confirmed its Opening for May 24th and its summer programme will include Magna Carta on Thursdays and Pukka Up’s Tropical Wonderland on Saturdays. Added to that, after its sojourn last summer, Defected- an Ibiza staple over the last fifteen years- are back on the island and taking over Eden’s Sunday nights.
And that’s just for starters. More parties, more artists and more surprises still to be revealed but so far, it’s shaping up to be a very special summer.
